Jennifer Ann Brown

(September 11, 1951 - August 2, 2023)

Jennifer Ann Brown joined the saints in heaven during the early hour of August 2, 2023.

There is much that can be said about her childhood, upbringing, adulthood, family, and career; however, what deserves the most attention is her faith. She believed in the Triune God, and through her many others were exposed to everlasting salvation. She avidly studied the scriptures and attended bible classes to grow her faith. She insisted on bringing the good news to those willing to hear and without fear to those who rejected God to her face. To know her was to feel God’s goodness. To befriend her was to open the door to the joys in life. To be in her presence was a constant reminder of the good this life has to offer.

She was the fourth of eleven children born to Reverend James and Rose Lathan. She had a heart for others and dedicated herself to demonstrating a Christ-like love through serving in roles at the former Jackson Center in Milwaukee, WI, as a counselor at Northside Lutheran Ministries pregnancy center, and as church secretary at Siloah Evangelical Lutheran Church for many years. Her greatest calling was that of wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is and will be dearly missed by her daughters, Jennifer (Tony) Townes and Elizabeth (Randy) Higgins. Jennifer loved her grandchildren Alexus Ness, Orion Bell, Caelum Seals, Kkamerin Fair, and great-grandson Kenai Drew more than anyone except her Savior. She is survived by her brother Lamont Lathan and sisters Cynthia Lathan, Barbara Lathan, Belinda Lathan, and Bonita Lathan. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Frederick Brown, parents James and Rose Lathan, and siblings Milton Lathan, Gwendolyn Lathan, Beverly Lathan, Brenda Lathan, and Herbert Lathan. Her beloved aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends will remember her fondly.

Cry if you must but know she has won the race. Her rightful citizenship has been granted.
