Ms. Verdell James Obituary

Verdell James (Cox) was born on February 14, 1942, in Hamburg, Arkansas.


She was the firstborn child to Elder Charlie and Ruth Cox. She had a younger


brother, Charles Edward Cox.




Verdell and her brother, Charles, moved to Milwaukee to live with their


grandparents, Ollie and Alma Levi. Verdell loved the Lord and enjoyed


cooking, shopping, and spending time with her family. She was a proud


member of Rehoboth New Life Center.




Verdell went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday,


April 14. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Charlie and


Ruth, her younger brother, Charles, her daughter, Darlene, and her


husbands, James E. James and David Franklin.




Verdell’s legacy lives on through her children: Catherine (Rick) Juniel, Danny


(Teresa) Whitelaw, and Tonny (Nicole) James; her grandchildren, Deandre


Cunningham, Nathan Whitelaw, Aaron (Janelle) Whitelaw, Kiara (Tyler)


Marsh, Crystal Whitelaw, and Yisrael James; her sister-in-law, Carol Cox,


niece, Carolyn Cox, nephews, Charles Cox Jr. and Corey (Jackie) Cox, several


great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and other friends
